Mr. C. F. Barker's Stock Report.
My sale at Patea yards on Wednesday •was well attended, and the bidding for most classes of stock was fairly brisk, especially for sheep. The cattle entries amounted to 176, nearly all of which were sold. No beef offered. The sheep entries, amounting to 820, were chiefly ewes. There is a large demand for ewes in lamb, but few offering. Piga were in moderate supply, and sold at satisfactory prices. Cattle.— l sold 37 2-year-old steers at L 3 10s ; 16 2-year steers, L 3 ss ; 14 cows, L 3 2s 6d, besides several other lines, at satisfactory prices. Sheep. — I sold 120 mixed store sheep at 7a Id j 200 mixed store ewes and wethers, at 9s.
Pigs.— s sows in pig at Ll 15s ; small pigs, from Bs. Horses.— Light draught at L2O ; hacks, from L 3 to Lll.
