QUERIES. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.

Sir, — When I was out at Ngaire lately, some of my friends and your friends were very curious about the letters and poetry in the Stab, and wanted to know who was " Banco," and the "Native Difficulty," and "Yankee Doodle," and the "Grizzly Boar," and the " Ministerial Bogle ;" and when I came home, and was talking about it to my wife, my youngest son, Ben, who was pretending to learn his lessons in the corner, says "Father, the 'Grizzly Boar' is the 'Native Difficulty.'" I told the boy to mind his lessons, rather sharp. My wife says, "Why don't you write to the paper?" Well, I never thought of that before. When Ben, although had told him to be quiet, says, "Father, 'Banco' is the new Banker as is coming ; though he hasn't spelt the name right — it ought to be 'Bankho!'" I boxed the boy's ears this time. Well, me and my wife were still talking about it, when Ben says again, "Father, I have looked right through the big dictionary, and cannot find 'Bogle' between the four covers." I says, "Ben, go to bed." That boy is very cute. Well, Mr. Editor, can you tell who is the " Grizzly Boar," and the "Native Difficulty," and the "Bogle," and "Banco," and whether the "Grizzly Boar" is a Judge of Pigs, and whether, when he rs to Whenuakura and Waitotara, will then deal out pig law, and •whether the " Native Difficulty " will then be at an end? Lots of your friends will be pleased to know. — I am. Ac. I
