The following are the results of the sale of land thrown open on application at the Hawera and Patea Land Offices on Monday. Altogether 1816 acres were taken up, and deposits, representing over £2000 worth of land, were lodged at the Hawera office. The sections for which there was more than one applicant will be put up to auction between the applicants. There was also one village section in Otakeho sold yesterday at Hawera. Most of the purchasers are new settlers in the district.
