One lodger in the boardirig-hbuse, who was extricated with difficulty, was much cut and burnt. Mr. and Mrs. Watts were absent at the tune. Their two children were rescued by" the lodgers. Insurances — On the hotel (Baker and Browns owners) : South British, JE800; Standard, £200. Furniture: Union, J2OO. The factory was insured for £850 in the South British. The stook was uninsured. The origin of the fire is unknown. Baker and Browns are heavy losers. CHAELESTON, Last Night. The Government dam was carried away last night, taking away with it Gregory and Bonner's dam, also everything below it, and very nearly with loss of life. The loss is considerable, and will cause almost a total cessation of mining in the district.
