NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of a requisition, signed by^ twelve members of the Hawera District Land, Building, and Investment Society, Permanent, a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of the said Society will be 'holden at the Society's Offices, Institute Buildings, Hawera, on MONDAY, the sixteenth day of May, 1881, at half -past seven o'clock in the evening, for the purpose of considering and altering the Rules of the Society, in manner following. The first paragraph of Rule 34, appointing James Livingston, William Dingle, and Frederick Eiddiford, Trustees of the Society, is hereby repealed. All deeds, writings, and securities to and from the Society shall be made in the name of and to the Society. All payments of money authorised by the Directors shall be made bj cheque signed by the Manager and one Director. All deeds made by the Society shall be sealed by the Manager, who, with one Director, shall certify that such sealing was authorised by the Directors. ADDITION TO RULE 7. 1. Whenever the amount contributed by a subscribing member, with interest and profits, shall have reached the sum of Twenty Pounds, a subscriber's share shall be considered as completed, and all after subscriptions with interest and profits not drawn out, shall go towards the completion of another share, and so on until the number subscribed for is completed. Subscribers shares completed may be converted into capital shares, and registered as such by the Manager, upon receiving from the owner of such share or shares a request in writing signed by the owner thereof. Capital shares may be taken up either by paying the full sum of Twenty Pounds for each share, or by monthly subscriptions of three shillings each share, and no fines shall be incurred by the non-payment of such subscriptions. Capital shares cannot be withdrawn. 2. Interest will be payable annually on all completed shares, the amount of such interest to be decided annually by the Directors. So much of rule 35 as refers to convening meetings for altering or repealing rules, and all provisions contained in the rules repugnant to the foregoing provisions, are hereby repealed, but such repeal shall not affect any action taken or thing done in pursuance of the said rules previous to the coming into force of the rules hereby made. IT is hereby notified that the unsold sections of Crown Land in the Pahiatua Block, Forty-mile Bush, and in the Kairanga and Arawaru, Palmerston and Fitzherbert, will be open to purchase at this office by application on and after Tuesday, 19th April. Twenty-five per cent, cash with application ; the balance within one month. In the Fitzherbert Block. 25 Sections, varying in area from 60 to 290 acres, at 21s. to 275. 6d. per acre. In the Kairanga Block. 14 Sections, varying in area from 68 to 196 acres, at 255. to £3 per acre. In the Pahiatua Block. 59 Sections, varying in area from 41 to 316 acres, at 21s. to 355. per acre. The above sections contain rich, deep soil, are level and undulating, covered with mixed timber, mostly tawa, and are approached by made roads. Maps, application forms, schedules of contents, and upset price of each section can be obtained at the Wellington Land Office, and at the Post Offices, Palmerston, Woodville, and Masterton. J. G.
