The Argus to-day rtates "that it understands that the Legislative Council will not proceed with the "Beform Bill, but will invite the Assembly to' hold a joint committee of the two Houses to agree, rf poesible, to a compromise. SYDNEY, Yesterday. The revenue of New South Wales for .-• the .present quarter amounted to £1,393,000, being an increase of £464,000. compared with the amount for the March - quarter of last year. In view- of a return of Laycock, Messrs. Mason' Bros, offer £300 for a prize for - a sculling race, to be open to all comers. The offer is made in connection with Walker's whisky, for which Messrs.
