Messrs. Bauchope and King report : — We held our monthly sale at Waitara on Tuesday, when wo yarded 55 head, 30 of which were sold at fair market rates. Local buyers having a strong inclination to purchase at these yards, should induce farmers in the district to bring stock forward to support the monthly sale. The following were Bold : — 14 calves at 35s 6d ; 6 18-month-old steers, JB3 7s 6d to £3 10s ; 2 heifers at £3 ; 1 do at M ; 12 say yearling heifers, £2 10s. — We held our fortnightly cattle sale at the Waiwakaiho on Thursday, when cattle came forward very freely, 255 head being yarded. We had a good attendance ; but bidding was very Black, and prices had a downward tendency. We cleared most of them off at and after the auction, 104 being sold at the following rates :—22: — 22 calves at £1 6s to .£l l4s 6d ; 92 well-bred bulls do, at 25s to 355; 33 yearlings at £2 7s 6d to £3 3s; 5 springing heifers at £& ; 6 cows at .£0 ss, £3, £A, £7, £8, and £5 12s 6d; 9 cows, with calves, at £4 2s 6d ; 1 cow and calf, £5 ; 3do at £4, 12s 6d ; 3 fat steers, .£6 10s ; 16 2i-year-olddoatJß4losj bull, £5; 18 fat sheep, 12s.
