Nelson, Last Night. The weather to-day was fine, bat for a short period in the afternoon the windwas rather baffling.

At the eighth match, for all members, 300, 400, and 500 yards, seven shots at each range, the following are the prizetakers in order : — Paynter, Nelson ; Weir, Thames, each 75; Hutchinson, Otago; Hoskins, Taranaki; Lieut. Ballinger, Wellington ; Rawling, Nelson, each 73 ; A. Dixon, Wellington, 82 ; Cooper, Auckland ; Crossman, Nelson ; Somerville, Wanganui; Stitt, Wanganui, each 71; Bun', Wellington; Hunter, Waimea; F. France, Wellington; Ricketts, Waimea: Downie, Thames ; Armstrong, Thames ; Fowler, Waimea ; Harding, Oamaru ; Anderson, Clutha, each 70; Turner, Blenheim ; Brooks, Dunedin ; Johnson, Dunedin ; Ellis, Nelson ; 'Hazlett, Auckland ; Woolley, Thames, each 69. Paynter also took Hobson's cup for the highest aggregate inma-ches 1 and 8, and also holds the Marlborough cup for this year. He is the winner of No. 8 match. Nelson Citizens' and Brewers' PrizesMatch, 200, 400, and 500 yards; seven shots at each ; all members. — First prize, citizens' cup and £20, A. Ballinger, Wellington, 84 ; second prize, brewers' tea and coffee service, and 4J15, Waddell, Nelson, 76 ; third prize, umbrella stand, presented by Mowbray and Crosbie, and j>lo, Rogers, Blenheim, 76 ; fourth prize, cup presented by Mr. Muncaster, and £7, Weir, Thames, 75 ; fifth prize, 2 cwt. flour, presented by Mr. Rutherford, and £5, Downie, Thames, 75; sixth prize, £2, Madock, Blenheim, 75. The remaining nine prizes, £1 each, were won by Thomas, Thames ; Ellis, Nelson ; Dixon, Wellington; each 75; Wratt, Waimea-; Hutchison, Otago ; each 74 ; Paul, Westland ; Snttou, A., Marlboreugh ; Ross, E. Westland ; Cooper, Auckland ; each 75. The championship matches will be finished to-morrow afternoon.
