BOUNCIBLE NATIVES.
[Specially Telegraphed to Stab.]
(per united press association.)
Auckland, Last Night.
Cambridge telegrams report that a party of Maungatatare natives came down to McLean and Co.'s property at Horahora, burnt a small bridge, threw 500 bugs of bonedußt into the river, carried away the tents and tools, and threatened to come back and burn a large bridge. Horahora is a block about which there was for many years a dispute, the King natives asserting that it was bought without their sanction as owners. The land has recently been occupied. Mr. McLean Las 60 men on the ground, and means to retain possession. Colonel Lyon, Major Mair, and the constabulary are also there. Major Mair and Colonel Lyon have gone to interview the natives.
