His Excellency starts on his tour through Otiigo and Canterbury about the middle of next week. The Customs revenue for the month was £18,400. All applications for new licenses at the Licensing Court to-day were refused. Grahamstown, Last night. The murder case was continued to-day, but nothing new was elicited. Dunedin, Last Night.

Mr. Driver, M.H.R., has purchased Sir Modred, Somnus, and the Idalia colt. Christciiurch, Last Night. Fairbanks' chemist shop, in Highstreet, was forcibly entered on Saturday or yesterday, aud a cash box was carried off. An attempt was also made to enter a tailor's shop next door, but unsuccessfully. The cash box stolen was locked up in a cupboard and concealed under papers. Timaru, Last Night. The old accommodation -house, at Kapo ferry, was destroyed by fire early on Suuday morning. Nothing was saved of the contents. It belonged to the Mount Cook Road Board, and was insured for £250 in the New Zealand Insurance Office. The dwelling of D. McKenzie, an old settler, Geraldine, was burned on Sunday night. The inmates had barely time to escape. It is not kuown whether the property was insured or not. Greymouth, Last night. The Golden Fleece Company, Reefton, put through 136 tons quartz for the week, and obtained 214 ozs. of amalgam. The United Alpine (Lyell), from 168 tons of quartz, got 223 ozs. of amalgam. Keep-it-dark (Reefton), from 210 tons of quartz, got 154 ozs 10 dwts. of amalgam.
