Melbourne, Yesterday. It has been decided that the Exhibition shall remain open to the 30th April next. A company is being formed here to purchase the Mango Island, in the Fiji group. Capital, £100,000.
A serious railway accident occurred on Wednesday on the Hue near-Ballarat, by which seven persons have been badly injured.
Richard Hart, brother to the outlaw, has been arrested at Echuca for highway robbery.
A boy of fifteen has been arrested at Sleiglitz for shooting a girl of thirteen and wounding her.
The present indications of the wheat harvest are not so good as last year.
Legal proceedings have been commenced by Herr Wildner, conductor of tha Austrian band, against Herr Schonberger, to recover LI3OO.
At a banquet at Warrnambool, Major Smith, in response for the Government, said he believed the present Government commanded the respect, esteem, and confidence of the people, more particularly moderate people. He believed the colony was entering a season of unprecedented prosperity.
