Depositing, as dicected, about 300 cubic yards Gravel between Manutahi Hill South and Burkes. No. 65. Depositing, as directed, about 360 cubic yards Gravel between Whenuakura Bridge and Homer's gate. No. 66. Depositing, as directed, about 150 cubic yards gravel on Patea Hill. j Specifications and other information may be obtained at the Office of the Patea County Council. GRAVELLING CONTRACT No. 4 j mENDERS will be received at the J_ Native Office, New Plymouth, and at the Post Office, Hawera, until noon on SATURDAY, the 22nd January, for the above contract. Tenders must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public ' Works, and marked outside " Tender for Gravelling Contract No. 4." Specifications, &c, may be seen at the above offices. All Tenders must be accompanied by a cheque for the amount named in the specification; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twentyone days, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's deposit account only, and not to bearer or order. Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the number of teams he intends to employ on the Work. Not less than six teams, however, shall be employed on the contract. The lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted. Telegraphic Tenders will not be received. By command. C. W. Public Works Office, Wellington, 10th January, 1881. SEPARATE WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at ohis Office up to noon on TUESDAY, Ist February, 1881, ; for the above contract. They must be addressed to the Hon. Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside " Tender for Waingongoro or Waiokura Road Bridge Contract," as may be. Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, New Plymouth, Foxton, Wanganui, and Wellington, the Telegraph Office, Normanby, and at the Post Office, Hawera Telegraphic tenders, similarly marked and addressed, will be received if presented at any Telegraphic Office by noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order.
