Captain Wilson, J.P.) WIFE DESERTION.

E. M. Pickering, who was arrested on a warrant from Wellington, charged with neglecting to support his wife and children, was ordered to pay 15s per week into ' court. CIVIL OASES. J. K. Ferguson v. R. S. Thompson. — Claim for £1 6s. Judgment by default for amount, and costs. Same.v. R. Dent. — Claim for £4. Adjourned until next court day for further particulars. L. Smith v. T. W. Brooke.— Claim for £20 11s 6d. Judgment by default for amount, and costs. W. Noble v. J. Pope.— Claim for £1 7s, on a judgment summons. Ordered to pay the amount, and 7s 6d costs, within one month, or seven days' imprisonment in New Plymouth gaol. J. Simes v. Hone Pibama. — Claim for £45 8s 6d, wages. Mr. Parrington appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Barleyman for defendant. The case had been adjourned from tbe previous court day, and after a lengthy hearing, judgment was given for defendant, with costs.

W. L. England v. J. Hyman. — Claim for £5 0s sd. Judgment for amount, and 9s costs.

Hayward and Lindsay v. W. L. Eng-land.-—Claim for £45 3s lOd. Mr. Ward appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr. Barl-.y-man for defendant. The case was adjourned until next court day. The court then adjourned.
