They will be received at the Public Works Office, New Plymouth, until noon on TUESDAY, 18th January, 1881, and must be addressed to the Hon. | Minister for Public Works, and marked outside " Tenders for Gravelling or Metalling." Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Wanganui, Carlyle, and New Plymouth ; Post Office, Hawera ; aud at the Telegraph Office, Normanby. All Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit cheque for the amount named in the specifications ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the Receiver- General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, N.B. — Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the woz*k.
