A public meeting was held on Tuesday evening, at Messrs. Altog ther the sum of £20 has been obtained. On the occasion, it is suggested to have the services of the A.C. Band, if possible, and steps are being taken to solicit Colonel Roberts' permission, should the members agree to come.
Adverting to an article which appeared in the Taranaki Herald, signed "O. Murphy," reflecting on the Government and the A.C. Band, I would, with your kind permission, ask has this "O. Murphy >v ever complained of the members of the force not being " billeted" at his boardinghouse, and the reason why no A.C. men patronise his place ?
