SALE OF MANAIA.

The sale of Manaia and Opunake -townships was advertised for Friday, 1 and'there must have been at least 300 persons-pre-sent when the sale commenced. _■ -The township of Manaia was-first.offered for sale, and a large number of sections-were sold, some at very higbN prices, those at the octagon bringing over £80. The. competition was very spirited throughout the day, and the Commissioner went through the various sections at a pretty rapid rate.
