There was a large attendance at the races on Saturday. His Excellency the Marquis of Norinanby and party iwere present. The weather was very fine and warm.
FLEMINGTON STAKES. Momnouth ... ... ... ... 1 Welcome Jack .. ... ... ... 2 Topaz j 3 Won by half a length. Twenty-three horses started. Tune — lm. 9f s. It was a very fast race. mares' produce stakes. Grand Flaneur 1 Progress 2 Mulatto 3 Won comfortably by a length. Time — 2m. llf s. Six started. V. R. C. HANDICAP. Mata 1 Pontiff 2 Secundus 3 Won by half a length. Mata was the favorite in this race with New Zealanders,. who backed him freely. Time — 3m. 6fs.
