Carlyle, Friday. Thursday next, being the date fixed for the Agricultural Show, is announced as a holiday. On Tuesday last, at the R.M. Court, J. W. Kenah and H. F. Christie, Esqs., on the Bench, Francis Williamson was charged with assaulting Constables Burrows and McPheily while in the execution of their duty. On the application of. Mr. War<3, sohcitor $or khe deseziila,ni, ihe hearing was adjourned to Tuesday. Captain Bradley speaks highly of the improvements in the river bar. Entries closed, last evening for the Agricultural and Pastoral Show, to be held on the 4th proximo. The show is likely to be a most successful one. In the evening a dinner will be held at the Central Hotel.

At a meeting of the McGuire Cup committee, held last evening, it was resolved that in future the cup be competed for on the range of the corps to which the last winner belongs. Mr. Dolan, of the Normanby Bifles, being the last winner, the next competition will be held at the Normanhy range to-worrow week, 6th proximo. There is likely to be a pretty large party of competitors from this end of the county.
