SEPARATE TENDERS will be received at the Public Works Office, New Plymouth, until Noon on Thursday, 28th October, 1880, for GRAVELLING or METALLING (if required) Contracts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, on the Mountain Road, County of Patea; and Contracts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, on the Mountain Road, County of Tarauaki. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, and marked outside " Ten- 1 ders for Gravelling or Metalling." Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Ofiiees, Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth ; Post Offices, Carlyle and Hawera ; and at the Telegraph Office, Normanby. All Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit cheque for the amount named in the specifications ; such cheque to be specially marked j by a banker as good for twenty-one days, | and to be in favor of the ReceiverGeneral's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. N.B. — Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the work ; not less than four teams, however, shall be employed on any one contract* ■ By command.
