The Pore-bred Clydesdale Entire SIH WILLIAM WAULACE. Dam— Mr. Charles Campbell's famous brood mare by Champion (imported.) Sire— Mr. Kettle's imported horse Sir William Wallace. Sib William Wallace is a beautiful dark bay with black points, and waa foaled January 7th, 1872. For symmetry, strength, andaction, he stands unrivalled. He is perfectly quiet, docile, and tractable. No horse approaches him in quality aud quantity of bone, muscle, and hair. He is a sure foal-getter, and his stock are turning out first-claßß. He has taken the Champion Prize 1 in Wanganui two years in succession, viz., in 1878 and 1879. For pedigree and further particulars, see large cards. Fee — Single mares, at £4 105. ; reduction made for two or more mares. Groomage fee, 2s. 6d., to be paid when the mare is served. Fees payable on January Ist, 1881. Paddock for mares free for one month, after which, a charge of Is. 6d. per week will be made. Every care taken, but no responsibility. Sir William Wallace will travel to Manutahi if sufficient inducement offers. WILSON BROTHERS, Hawera. mo STAND THIS SEASON -*- ' IN THE Hawbea and Manutahi Districts, The Pure-bred Clydesdale Stallion KNOCKDON, A Bright Bay, rising four years old, standing 16$ hands high, with immense muscular power and splendid action. Knockdon is out of the celebrated mare Princess. Princess by Emperor, out of the celebrated mare Kate, imported by the late Mr. James Strachan. Princess took first prize in Timaru in 1874, against eleven brood mares. Emperor gained three first and three second prizes, being beaten only by his sire, Napoleon, Knockdon's sire was bred by James N. Fleming, Esq., of Knockdon, out. of the renowned mare Boßie, by Prince Christian. Prince Christian was also bred by Mr. Fleming ; was by his horse Prince Consort, out of his prize mare Nell. Rosie was also bred by Mr. Fleming; .her sire was bred by Major Findlay, of Eastern Hill, out of a Highland and Agricultural Society's prize-winner. Her dam, Old Bosie, gained first prize as a three-year old at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries, and as a brood mare the following year at Kelso. Bosie gained many prizes in Scotland, amongst others, first, as fe two* year old at Ayr, 1867 ; first, as, a threeyear old at Ayr, 1868 ; second, aa a brood mare at Ayr and JMaybole, 1869; and first as a brood ma»B at Aw, i» 1991,same day winning sweepstakes for best bi'ood mare, open to Scotland. She was beaten at Ayr and Maybole, in 1869, by Mr. Fleming's mare Salt, but was placed before the same mare in 1871. As a brood mare, Bosie bas not been surpassed. Her first foal, a filly, was four times first . as a yearling, viz., at Ayr, Glasgow, Maybole, and Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries. In 1871, she was shown twelve' times, and always . gained the first place. These winnings included Glasgow, East Kilbride, and Highland and Agricultural Society^s Show at Perth. In 1872, she was again first at Ayr. Her second foal, also a filly, gained second prize at Ayr, and first at Glasgow, and Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Perth, as a yearling in 1871. In 1872, she was again first at Ayy and Glasgow. Ah present, she is considered the best of her age- in - Scotland. Her next foal was Knockdon. He was foaled on the 26th May, 1871, and gained the first prize at Ayr, and second at Glasgow, in 1872, and first at Timaru as a three-year-old in 1873, and first again in 1875, against all comers. Knockdon" took first prize in Timaru as a yearling ,- first, in Wanganui as a two-year-old; first in Wanganui as a three-year-old ; first in Waverley for all horses.
