Melbourne, Tuesday.
The overland telegraph line, between Adelaide and Port Darwin, is down, and telegraphic communication with Europe is interrupted.
The Victorian Government has fixed the minimum of the two million loan, which will shortly be issued in the London market, at .£lOl.
The Argus to-day publishes an article commenting in highly eulogistic terms on the character and services of Sir Hercules Robinson.
Thieves entered the Government House yesterday, while his Excellency the Marquis of Normanby and guests were at dinner, and carried off .£l5O worth of jewellery belonging to Lady and Miss Robinson.
Adelaide, Monday.
The action brought against the Insurance Companies, in connection with the wreck of the Hyderabad, has been compromised, the Govesnment accepting £7000 compensation.
