TENDERS FOB INLAND MAIL SERVICES FOR 1881 AND 1882. Chief Post Office, Wanganui, 31st August, 1880. SEALED TENDEBS will be received at the Chief Post Office, Wanganui, until Thursday, the 30th September proximo, for the conveyance of Mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of two years, from the Ist January, 1881, to the 31st December, 1882 :— *1. Waitotara Po6t Office and Railway Station and Ngaire, daily. *2. Waitotara Post Office and Railway Station and Hawera, daily. 3. Bulls and Greatford, daily. 4. Wanganui and Makirikiri, twice weekly. 5. Marton and Tutaenui, twice weekly. 6. Marton and Crofton, twice weekly. 7. Marton and Crofton, thrice weekly. 8. Wanganui Post Office and Wharf as required. 9. Wanganui Post Office and Railway Station as required. 10. "Wangaehu Post Office and Railway Station, thrice weekly. 11. Marton Post Office and Railway Station as required.. 12. Brunswick Post Office and Railway Platform, thrice weekly. 13. Maxwelltown Post Office and Railway Platform Okehu, daily. The services marked thus * may be affected by railway extension, and may be terminated by the Postmaster-General on his giving one month's notice in writing. The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the following clause of the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender forms : " The days and hours of arrival and departure to be fixed from time to time as the Post-master-General may direct. For services performed by coach, no stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special permission from the Postmaster- General, who shall determine whether or not longer stages are unavoidable." Contractors, whose tenders may be accepted, must be prepared to carry out the services for which they tender according to the time-tables framed by tbe department. "Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract, may be procvued at any post office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form. WRITTEN Tenders will be received at the Public Works Office, Wanganui, up to NOON on TUESDAY, the 14th SEPTEMBER, for Station Buildings on the Waverley Station of the FoxtonNew Plymouth Railway. Tenders to be ddressed to the Minister for Public Works ; to be in proper form and enclosed to the undersigned ; to he marked outside, " Waverley Stations Tender." In case of a telegraphic tender, a written tender must be lodged at a Government office.
