The Star. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBEB 8, 1880.

WAIMATE PLAINS.

We are informed that Monday, the 25th of October, is fixed as the day of application for deferred payment sections on the portion of the "Waimate Plains to be first offered. Contested applications will be decided by public auction between applicants on Thursday, 28th, and the immediate payment land will be sold on Friday, 29th, at Hawera.

The portion to be offered is described in the Gazette as " comprising 7000 acres. It lies on the west bank of the Waingongoro river, has a frontage of nearly three miles to the sea, and is a compact area (four by three miles) of level and undulating land. The block is well watered, and is intersected by a well formed metalled road, being part of the main coast roadline from Hawera to New Plymouth. The land is surveyed into sections generally from 50 to 80 acres each. About one-third of the block will be open for application on deferred payments, and two-thirds will be offered for sale by public auction."

On and after 13£b rnstan*, litliofcrapli plans win i)Q obtainable at all the kno. offices In the colony, l?rom the above it will be seen that applicants who fail to secure deferred payment sections will be allowed an opportunity of securing a cash section. The deferred payment blocks will be under offer for only three days, consequently the ownership will be soon settled. Judging by the incomplete information to hand, we think the arrangements proposed are well calculated to meet the wishes and requirements of purchasers.
