HAWERA CRICKET CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above club waa hold on Saturday evening, at Lloyd's Hotel..' Mr. T. Mason,' vice-president, occupied the chair. ! ." MINUTES. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. FINANCE. The Seoretary and .Treasurer (Mr. White) stated that at the last meeting there waß a balance of £7 17s. Id., to which had to be added subscriptions amounting to <£4 2s. The expenditure amounted to £17 Ss. 6d., leaving a deficiency of 6s. sd. On the motion of Mr. Bate, seconded by Mr. Lysaght, the statement of accounts, as read, was adopted.
THE GROUND.
The Chairman said they had got the ground in a lair way of being kept in order, as they had made arrangements 'with a man to live in the pavilion, and attend to the ground, at a salary of £80 & year. TJiej' agreed to pay him quarierly y and he (the chairman) hoped, therefore, that members would pay their subccriptions promptly i Mr. Biddiford thought the ground committee should be elected annually. The present members had been appointed three years ago, and it was time that some others should take their places. He proposed a resolution to that effect. Mr. Parrington seconded the motion. They could be re-appointed if the members thought proper. The motion was carried.
Mr. Bate proposed a vote of thanks to the ground committee. They deserved the best thanks of the club for what they bad done. The ground would be one of the prettiest in the colony in a short tune. The resolntion was carried unanimously.
Mr. Mason returned thanks, and said that he hoped the members would have no cause of complaint this season. Messrs. Mason, Riddiford, and White were again re-elected.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
The following gentlemen were elected for the ensuing year : — President, Mr. I. Bayly (unanimously) ; vice-president, Mr. T. Mason (re-elected) ; captain, , Mr. F. Riddiford (re-elected) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. White (re-elected) ; committee, Messrs. Parrington, Beresford, Bate, Cunningham, and G. T. Bayly.
PRIZE BATS.
Mr. Southey said he would like to present a bat for the best batting average of the season. — Mr. G. T. Bayly would give a bat for the best field.— Mr. Riddiford would give a bat to the best bowler. — Messrs. Riddiford and Perry promised a bat for the best batting average in the second eleven, i*nd Mr. Lukis promised a ball for the best bowler in the second eleven.
MOWING MACHINE.
Mr. Panington offered to give a guinea towards a mowing machine. Messrs. Lloyd, Riddiford, G. T. Bayly, I. Bayly, Lysaght, Lukis, and Fowler also promised subscriptions for the same object.' Seven guineas were thus subscribed for the mowing machine in the room, and Mr. T. Mason was empowered to purchase one during his intended visit to Wellington.
AN ENTERTAINMENT.
Mr. Lukis thought that an entertainment might be got up for the club, as they were likely to be short of funds, and he suggested that a committee should be elected for that purpose. Mr. Bate was afraid that there were rather too many entertainments just now. Mr. Fowler pointed out that it was customary with other clubs to get up entertainments, and he thought a committee should now be appointed.

Mi. Lvxfeia proposed that the following lentlemen should "act as a committee : — Messrs. Fowler, Flint, Lukis, Panington, ,nd Southey. — Carried. JUVENILE MEMBERS.
Mr. Galvin proposed, and Mr. Lulus leconded — " That youths under 16 years )f age be admitted to the club at halfrabscription rates." — Carried. NEW MEMBERS. ■
The following new members were ilected : — Messrs. Yorke, Wilkinson, Innes, Galvin, Fowler, Foley, and Eraser.
A vote of thanks to the chairman coniuded the business.
