At the annual meeting of the Jockey Club the statement of accounts submitted showed that, despite the loss of £140 on the steeplechase, and £150 spent in improving the course, the operations of the year gave a balance in hand of i-227. The total receipts were i>2207. The entrance fee has been 'lowered to two guineas, and the annual subscription raised to five guineas.

Auckland, Friday. • At the annual meeting of the Race Club the report showed the year's receipts to have Ibeen i>l64S, and balance over expenditure £757. It was agreed to communicate with the soutbemjclubs to have a paid handicapper for the whole colony.
