At the 6heep sales yesterday, Mr. Gardiner, of New Zealand, bought Adelaide rams at 180 and 120 guineas each. Mr. Hall, of New Zealand, purchased a flock of Tasmanian ewes, and the New Zealand and Australian Land Company also purchased some high-priced rams. M. Soundry, who was wounded at the Opera House by Greer, whilst in company with the latter's wife, is a passenger by the steamer Garonne.

Ned Kelly has been committed for trial, which will take place on 14th October. Sydney, Friday. News has been received from Noumea that the native King Tahiti has abdicated, and Tahiti has been proclaimed a French colony.

Adelaide, Friday. The .Treasurer made his Financial Statement in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. It showed that the revenue for the past financial year amounted to £1,831,000, being £24,500 below the estimate, and leaving a debit balance of 4243,000, exclusive of £30,000 appearing on the supplementary estimates. He estimated the revenue for the present year at £'2,018,000, and the expenditure at £1,945,000, leaving a deficit of £176,000, which will be covered by new taxes. The latter will, however, be deferred, in view of the elections which will shortly take place.

Hobart Town, Friday.

The Tasmanian Parliament was opened on Tuesday by the Acting Governor, who announced that measures would be proposed lor an increase of taxation, with a view to augment the revenue.
