' '• WBBBEBOA RESERVE ROAD. v A 1 letter was read from the Minister of -Public Works, stating that the Govemment were not in a position to do the Work on the Whereroa reserve road. RULES OF DEBATE. Mr. Morrison proposed, and Mr. Allen seconded, — "That in speaking on any motion brought before the Board, no commissioner be allowed to do so more than once, and he is to confine himself strictly to die subject-matter of the same." — Carried. CAIN 1 , UELt, AMD INGAHAPE ROADS. Proposed \>y Mr. G>»ne, seconded hy Mr. Williams, and earned, — " That the tenders, as advertised, for ploughing and sowing Pain, Mell, and Ingahape roads be received and opened by Messrs. Gane and Williams, and that the above commissioners purchase the grass seed for sowing the same.

OTOKI ROAD. It was resolved that Messrs. Gane and Williams should see to getting about 16 chains of the scrub felled on the Otoki road, and a track made, about 12 feet wide. Proposed by Mr. Gane, seconded by the obairman, and carried, — " That tenders be called for material and the erection of a bridge over the Otoki stream, to be erected in the same place from whence the bridge was shifted on the Whakamara road, and that the engineer prepare the necessary specifications." HAWIBA-NOBHANBY EOAD. The Chairman explained that the road between Hawera and Normanby belonged to the Road Board, but he had taken steps towards proclaiming it a county road.

WEST ROAD. It was resolved that Messrs. Allen and Gane be empowered to expend £7 on the West road to the best advantage. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment:— T. Moiiarty, £8; J. West, £111 8s; J. Twigg, £34 18s lid ; W. T. Watts, £8 ; —Williams, £1 10s. Messrs. Pearce and Holgerson's account, for £48 10s, having been put in, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Gane, seconded by Mr. Williams, that Mr. Allen should, according to bis agreement, advance the amount until the Board was in funds. It was afterwards decided that the Board should raise the money, conditionally on Mr. Allen paying interest on the amount,
