[ PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
New Plymouth, Tuesday night. The natives arrested for fencing across the road line at Werekino arrived here at two o'clock this morning. The natives, when ordered to stop fencing, r fused, and orders were then given to arrest them. Te Whetu, the leader, was first singled out, and seized, but it was with some little difficulty that he was secured. The other natives then quietly surrendered. It is unknown what will be done with the prisoners, as the Crown Prosecutor has not yet received instructions. It is said that one of Te Whiti's sons is among the prisoners. • When the news of the arrest reached Parihaka, great excitement prevailed among the natives assembled at the meeting, and all declared then* determination to continue the fencing until all were taken prisoners. A number of-town natives-have gone to Parihaka.
