IVTOTICE is hereby given that the ■^ Board at its next meeting, viz., Saturday, 3rd of July, proposes to levy a rate of 4d (fourpence) in the £ upon all rateable property within the above district for the period from Ist April, 1880, to 31st March, 1881. The rate to be due and payable on the 31st July, 1880. The rate-book is now open for inspection at the Board's Office, Hawera. G. V. BATE, Secretary. HAWERA ROAD BOARD. mENDERS are invited by the Hawera -L Road Board for removing slips and keeping all obstacles from off the cuttings on Mells and West Roads, Whakamara ; also, for keeping the water-table open; no slips to be allowed to remain on said roads more than, two days, without the sanction of two members of the said Board. "''lt the obstacles are not removed, the Board may remove them at contractors' expense. The contractor to be paid in two instalments, at six months. The lowest' or any tender will not necessarily be aocepted. Tenders to be addressed to the Chairman of the Hawera Road Board, and to be sent in not later than the 3rd July, at 2 p.m. Any information can be gained by applying to Messrs. G. Gane, O. Notice is hereby given, that Patrick Dowdall, of Hawera, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, Farmer, claiming as heir-at-law- to Christopher Dowdall, late of Hawera aforesaid, deceased, has made application to be registered as proprietor of that piece of land, containing ten (10) acres more or less, being the section No. 22 in the Hawera settlement, and being the land comprised in Register-Book, vol. 1., fol. 326 ; and that he will be so registered unless caveat forbidding the same be lodged within one calendar month from the date oi publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
