Blackwood's Magazine will be edited in the future by two Scotch divines, Dr. K. M. Phin and Dr. A. H. Charteris.
One of the largest turbines ever made in the colony has been started at woi - k at the Queen of Beauty Company's pump, Grahamstown. Ix, worked up to 150 horse-powr, and the wheel is sft. in diameter. Mr. J. E. Perry is the inventor.
The Derby has been run for the last time at Epsom, the property on which the racecourse stands having passed into the handß of a gentleman who does not care to encourage racing. The Gravesend course, where the great race in future will be run, will be the best in England. The Derby has been run at Epsom for lOtfyoavs in succession. The old days of g jrg down to the Djrby by road are at au end.
