There ib a Blight improvement in values for •took, the demand for store cattle being greater than for some time past. Store sheep are Btill inquired for, and good fat sheep command capital prices. Beef is at last quotations, the demand being only limited, and that for prime quality only. The fat cattle offered at the sale to-day were ox the worst description. A nutahav of pena went to the graziers. Tie quotations therefore do not represent fair value for beef.
Cattle. — At the yards to-day, 180 head came forward.— Fat bullocks, of inferior description, JES 5s to £,o 12s 6d; cows, £5 6s to £6 10s; milch cows, JBS 2s 6d to £1 10s ; 2-year old steers, jB4 ss ; cows, £Z to M oB; yearlings, £2 7s (3d ; calves, £1 2s Cd. Sheep.— At St. Hill-street yards, 750 were in the pens. — Fat sheep, 7s 3d to 8s 9d ; store ewes, 5s 9d to 6s 9d.
Pigs. — Good useful porkers, 16b to 18b. up to 238. Horses. — A lot of screws and weeds found purchasers at low values. Exports. — 1108 sheep, 500 pigs. Land. — I disposed of Mr. T. Middleinas' property at Hawera, for JBI3 6s 8d per acre, Messrs. Iredale Bros, being the purchasers. .- 'Die eatntp contains 300 nouoa. .
