TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

(Prom the Taranaki Herald.)

Th 3 Land Board met on Monday. Present: — The Ch : ef Commissioner (in the chair), Messrs. Crompton and Syme.

TRANSFER.

The following letter was read from Mr. Joshua Jones: — "I have the honor to notify for the information of the Land Board tint I have assigned all my interest in Allotment 275, Jtfoa ; Sections 2, Huiroa, Block 5 ; 25, Huiroa, Block 6 ; 18, Huiroa, Block 9 ; 1, Huiroa, Block 10 ; and 283, Moa, with the right of completing the purchase of the same from the Crown, to Messrs. James Davidson, A. C. Fookes, John Uncles, and W. J. Wells ; and I have to request that the Board will make a record of such assignment, and will take notice that these gentlemen and persons claiming under them are alone entitled to complete the purchase of the said lands, and to receive the Crown grants thereof."

DEFERRED PAYMENT ROADS.

A letter was read from the Chairman of the Hawera Boad Board, stating the intention of that body to expend the proportion of the deferred payment instalments due to it on the Ist July, 1880, on the formation of about three miles of the Ingahape, Pain, and Mells Roads ; also, requesting the Board to arrange with the Chief Surveyor to have certain proposed deviations on the above roads surveyed. The letter further inquired why the Boad Board should not receive the proportion ot deferred payment due to it on January last. The Chairman was instructed to reply, asking for further particulars of the proposed expenditure, and with regard to the information asked for, referring the Eoad Board to the Treasury. MANAIA TOWNSHIP. A letter was read from Major Brown stating his opinion that the site for the town of Manaia as at present proposed is the best that could be fixed upon. APPLICATION TO PURCHASE. Henry Score Sanders applied to purchase section 27, Block 6, Ngaire, on deferred payment, Application granted.
