THE RANGITIKEI ELECTION.
The following are the returns from the several polling-places in the district, with
the exception ot Tutaenui, which has not yet come to hand. It cannot, however, 1 affect the result, except that it will pro1 ably increase the majority of Sir William Fox:— Pox. Phaser. Lyons Bulls ... 88 62 3 TuraMna ... 46 14 0 Marton ... 130 38 63 Owing to some cause which has yet to be explained, we understand that the polling-booth at TuraMna was not opened lor forty minutes after the time appointed by law, and that some of the voters who had to leave by the train for town were, in consequence, deprived of the opportunity of recording their votes. The complete returns for the Bangitikei election are as follows': — Fox 282 Fraser . 133 Lyon 69 Sir William, th refore, secured a majority of 99 over Mr. Eraser. There is now not the slightest chance of the election being disturbed or delayed by the remissness of the Deputy Returning Officer in not opening the booth till 40 minutes past 9 o'clock. — Wanganui Chronicle.
