WAR IMMINENT BETWEEN RUSSIA AND CHINA.
[Reuter's Special to Stab.] Cooktown, Tuesday. The Torres Straits mail brings news to the effect that war between Russia and China is beooming increasingly imminent. The latter country is in a disturbed state, and trade is thereby muoh prejudi.ed. At the northern ports the Chinese Government are making warlike preparations, and pushing forward their armaments, whilst Russia is plaoing ah anliy on the Kuldja frontier.
