TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.

Sir, — I see that the Otaki Art Union is still advertised in the Patea Mail, and in the reprint of that journal, the so-called Hawera Times.

Now, sir, I saw a notification in the Wellington Evening Post over a fortnight since, to the effect that the art union had been withdrawn, in consequence of the sale of tickets not having come up to expectations.

As the advertisements are likely to mislead — more especially as they appear in the inside and outside pages of the socalled Hawera Times — would you allow me to draw the attention of the public to the fact. — I am, &c,
