Extra Trains
SPECIAL HOLIDAY SERVICE \ Railway services throughout New Zealand are to be augmented during the holiday period by expresses, in anticipation of heavy passenger traffic which usually begins in mid-December and extends over Christmas and New Year. To enable intending passengers to make their accommodation arrangements as early as possible, the present practice of accepting reservations for seats and sleeping berth’s up to four weeks ahead of travel date will continue. Two days’ grace will be allowed passengers applying at stations other than the seat-allotting station. Special provision has been made to enable passengers to apply for reservations for the return journey at the same time as they obtain their outward reservations. Three trains each way between 'Wellington and Auckland are planned for Wednesday, December 22, four trains each way on Thursday, December, 23, and five trains each way o;i Friday December 24.
