Shooting of Film
V SCENE TAKEN AT TAITA
During the month, said a report presented to the Lower Hutt City Council by the City Engineer qn Monday night, a special escort was provided for traffic protection to a film unit, Pacific Film Company, which used the new Government settlement north of Taita Hotel for a film shot for the New Zealand Government.
The takings of the film centred around the actions of a driver of a car, who, acting the part of an irresponsible person in a road scene, drives the car in a manner contrary to public safety. The whole film shot took three hours to film and was conducted from a large trailer which had a car bolted to the floor, with the cameraman talcing shots at various angles. Apart from interest taken by spectators no disorganisation of traffic took place.
