Parking at Hospital

o CITY COUNCIL’S REQUEST

The Wellington Hospital Board decided recently to prohibit areas within .the Hutt hospital grounds for 'the the parking of motor vehicles during the visiting hours. The city' engineer and the chief traffic inspector reported to the Lower Hutt City Council that the prohibition was creating serious traflic problems.

The Council decided on Monday night to request the Hospital Board to make same areas within the hospital grounds available as parking space. The Council’s traffic inspectors 'will also endeavour to encourage the use of Pilmuin Street as a parking area if the hospital authorities will allow the Pilmuir Street entrance to be used for pedestrian traffic to the hospital.

The Council approved of the in stalla'cion of increased' street light ing at the hospital bus stop.
