* £2OO WORTH OF PARCELS WIDESPREAD DISTRIBUTION The Lower Hutt Aid to Britain Committee has received word that the £2OO worth of food parcels forwarded from Lower Hutt has been shipped on the Saxon Star. ROTARY CLUB SCHEME HELP FOR NEEDY FAMILIES Some time ago the Christchurch Rotary Club took steps to obtain the names of needy families in Britain to whom it was hoped to send parcels for Christmas. So many names were received that the Christchurch Rotarians found it impossible to deal with them all, so they asked Rotary Clubs in other parts of New Zealand to sponsor part of the list. The Hutt Rotary Club has decided io fall in with the scheme, and would be glad to receive public assistance in the effort to brighten the lot of needy British people during the holiday season.
Those wiling to help are asked tc send their names to “Food Parcel,” care secretary, Hutt Rotary Club, or care Hutt News Office, and the names of needy families will be supplied to them. Or if they send 15s to either of the above addresses a parcel will be sent on their behalf, with their name enclosed.
The Rotary Club is always to the 1 fore in any worthy cause, and its assistance in this special Food for Britain effort, will doubtless be a complete success.
