HUTT VALLEY CLUB Saturday was the occasion of the annual old timers’ day and field day. There was an excellent attendance and some good games were witnessed.

During the afternoon the Mayor, Mr. E. P. Hay, presented the trophies won during the season, as follows: — Marsh Cup, J. Foothead; Innes Cup, M. August; McLeod Trophy, Fourth Grade.

The annual game for the Stoupe Cup between the Old Timers and Club was particularly good, the oldtimers’ team being the strongest for many years. The businesslike manner in which they penetrated the circle time and time again proved that there is plenty of sting. in them yet. However, the Club defence held remarkably well and Judd alone scored for the Old Timers, while the Club managed to notch two goals, leaving them the winners two goals to one. Mr. W. J. Dredge presented the Stoupe Cup to R. Duncar., captain of the Club team. The Old Timers’ team was McColl, Ross, Latham, Diamond, Muir, Cocker, Chapman, Slater, Judd, Jackson. and Hodgkinson, and each played excellently.

Other games played resulted: First Grade 2 goals, Second Grade 0; Third Grade 4, Fourth Grade 2.

All members and friends are reminded of the annual dance on September 4. '
