TALK ON LONDON

PLUNKET MOTHERS’ CLUB For the last meeting of the Central Flunket Mothers’ Club members were indebted to Mrs. Forster, Sherwood Street, for the use of her home. Mrs. Forster and her fellow hostess, Mrs. Maclndoe, together with Mrs. France, club president, welcomed arrivals and sponsored an interesting programme of games and competitions.

The president thanked those members who had already handed in articles for the Christmas stall and reminded others that time was pass-

ing. The secretary revealed that a satisfactory financial position was enjoyed by the club, cash in. hand being £lB 14s 4d.

A baby’s plate sent along for competition by Nurse Richards was won by Mrs. King. Other competition winners were: Mrs. Deans, chocolates; Mrs. Lock, eggs. Miss MacDonald, the guest speaker, delighted her hearers with interesting anecdotes of her work in Britain. She confined her remarks to London, and with a pictorial map, etchings and the ever-useful picture pdstcard series to point her remarks she gave her audience a graphic account of places and personalities of wartime London. Mrs. France thanked Miss MacDonald for giving the club such an enjoyable London tour and presented her with a sheaf„of spring blooms. A buffet supper terminated a happy evening.
