The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, and Lady Freyberg, attended the first performance in New Zealand of “Under the Counter” by the Cicely Courtneidge Company, at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, on Saturday night.

Martin, repi’esenting Trinity Congregational Church, Lower Hutt, has been elected secretary of the Wellington branch of the Congregational Laymen’s Institute Fellowship, an organisation instituted by the Congregational Union of England and Wales -and destined to become world-wide through the International Congregational Council.
