Drama Festival

NORTH ISLAND FINAL The North Island elimination festival of the British Drama Festival, held at Hawera, resulted in the Wellington W.E.A. Players being placed first with the prologue from “Key Largo.” Gordonton (Waikato) Women’s Institute was second with “The Pot of Broth,” and the Manawatu Repertory- Society third with “The Brothers.” Best individual performances were those of Don McClymont, of Wellington, and Dorothy McKegg, of Palmerston-North. The W.E.A. play will take part in the national title contest at Dunedin on September 9.
