EPUNI BRANCH
The July nice ting of the Epmii branch of the Women’s Institute was presided over by the president, Mrs. Woodrow, there being a good attendance of members. 1
One birthday spray was presented this month. A long, interesting and appreciative letter was read by the president from the branch's link in England. All arrangements were made for a card evening to be held at tne end of the month for the Food for Britain campaign. The thought for the month was given by Mrs. Collard.
Mrs. Mackey was appointed delegate for the Dominion conference to take place in Wellington next month.
Mrs. Peel demonstrated glovemaking and Mrs. Love gave a demonstration of the making of lampshades. Thanks were expressed to them, *
The monthly competition article from 2ozs of wool was won by Mrs. Johnson, with Mrs. Prestridge gaining second place; best bloom: Mrs. Love, first; Mrs. Collard, second.
■lt was reported that a food parcel had gone forward- and the contents for another this month were collected. The competition for August will be pikelets. Afternoon tea was served. The singing of the National Anthem brought a happy meeting to a close.
