PLANS FOR WEED CUTTING

The Hutt River Board was asked at its last meeting to improve* the Vmk of file Waiwhetu Stream at the bridge in Birdwood Road, in order to assure the safety of pliildren; also to clear the stream of weeds. The chairman, Mr. H. S. Dudding, said a* weed-cutting machine had been ordered from England, and eventually the stream would be cleared of weeds. The condition of the bridge was a matte.' for the Cky Council. The River Board and the City Council had been conferring regarding ihe beautifying of the environs of the waterways. It wsis all embodied in the scheme to realign and clear the stream.
