Intermediate School

TALK ON CIVIC AFFAIRS

The privileges and responsibilities of citizenship are impressed upon the pupils of the Hutt Intermediate School by means of a talk each month by someone prominent in public life. These talks are followed up in the children’s ordinary classroom work. Recently the Mayor of Lower Hutt, Mr. E. P. Hay, who was introduced by the principal of the school, Mr. C. A. Browning, gave a very interesting talk on development plans in the Hutt Valley, especially the town-planning schemes in Lower Hutt. He reminded the pupils of the great responsibilities which would face them when they took their place in civic life. He also complimented them upon their fine school. ✓ Messrs. G. H. Stubbs and A. Bringans, school inspectors, were present.
