CHURCH CO-OPERATION

SCHOOL FOR SPEAKERS A school for speakers on the ecumenical movement, organised by the National Council of Churches, was held at Wallis House, Lower Hutt, last week, and was attended by about 35 ministers and laymen and women from all parts of New Zealand. The chairman of the council, the Rev. W. A. Burley, presided, and the Rev. J. A. Jermyn conducted the devotions. Lectures were given by Principal A. L. Haddon, the Rev. Professor G. A. F. Knight, Dr. Hector West, Miss Phyllis Evans, the Rev. J. K. Watson, Miss Barbara Rose, and the Rev. A. A. Brash, secretary of the National Council of Churches. The aim of the school was .to spread among the members of the denominations information about the movement for inter-church co-opera-lion.
