HUTT v. ST. GEORGE B. (Senior Reserve) Hutt suffered their first defeat of the season when they were narrowly beaten by St. George. Hutt attacked from the kick-off but solid tackling by St. George stopped Hutt from scoring. Shortly afterwards Hutt were down on the St. George line, and charging down a clearing kick the ball went over the line, where Wilson was on hand to score. This was converted.. St. George, using the sun to advantage, were putting the ball high in '.the air and from one of these movements went close to scoring, but ' Hutt forced down. From this drop-out St. George gained possession and good handling saw them score, which was converted.

The second spell started with Hutt pressing hard, but St. George were combining well and from an offside movement St. George had a shot at goal, which was successful. Hutt, now down two points, were playing more like a team and from a scrum Pettigrew broke through and handed on to Wilson, who scored his second try. This was unconverted. St. George attacked solidly but Hutt kept them in check until the ball came out and they scored wide out. The conversion missed. Play continued for about Ave minutes, but the final whistle blew when Hutt were right down on the St.. George line. The final score was St. George 10, Hutt 8. JUNIOR GRADE Korodale 30, Hutt 5.
