Philatelic Society

INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP The monthly meeting of the Hutt Valley Philatelic Society was held in the Scout Hall. There was a record attendance of 24 members. Since the April meeting 17 new members have been admitted to the the membership 53, and Miss Josephine Wraight became the first woman member. Mr. J. Vogel has been elected patron of the Society. Among the display of the evening was an interesting collection of Fiji stamps from the Victorian era up to date, and a fine display of mint British Colonial stamps, followed by a subject collection of stamps, depicting famous mountains of the world and different types of aircraft. The meeting concluded with the usual club auction of stamps.
