Church Unity

TAITA UNION PARISH FIRST ANNIVERSARY HELD Just over one year ago a special service was held in the Taita Community Hall to mark the foundation of a united church of Presbyterians, Methodists and Congregationalists in the Taita State housing area. It was a memorable service, well attended by Taita residents and by interested people from Lower Hutt and Wellington. Just over two weeks ago, on Sunday, May 16, the first anniversary service was held. A large congregation gathered to hear the special preacher, the Rev. W. A. Burley, Methodist minister and Dominion chairman of the National Council ot Churches, who spoke on "The Challenge of Christ."

The Knox Presbyterian Church Choir, Lower Hutt, led the singing and rendered two anthems.

A happy social hour concluded the evening.
